Gold Panning at the Gold Nugget Museum - Paradise Ridge Diggers
August 12, 2017
If you’ve ever wanted to learn to pan for gold, now is your chance. This summer, the Gold Nugget Museum is teaming up with the Paradise Ridge Diggers to provide a realistic panning experience. The Paradise Ridge Diggers share an abiding passion for gold prospecting, coin hunting, and treasure seeking.
Prospectors are offering panning techniques and tips on six Saturdays from July 8th through August 12th at the newly refurbished panning troughs, on the grounds of the Gold Nugget Museum, noon to 4 p.m. Learn from the experts how to locate where gold is typically found and how to “play in the right dirt.” There is no charge for the lessons, but panners have the option of purchasing bags of local pay dirt—sand mixed with gold.
The Gold Nugget Museum is located at 502 Pearson Road in Paradise. For information, go to goldnuggetmuseum.com or call the museum at (530) 872-8722.
