Last summer’s free gold panning lessons were such a hit that we are offering them this year.  Once again, the Gold Nugget Museum is teaming up with the Paradise Ridge Diggers to provide a realistic panning experience.

The Ridge Diggers will offer panning techniques and tips on each Saturday in August, noon to 4 p.m. at the museum. Learn from the experts how to locate where gold is typically found and how to “play in the right dirt.” There is no charge for the lessons, but panners have the option of purchasing bags of local pay dirt—sand mixed with gold.

The Gold Nugget Museum is located at 502 Pearson Road in Paradise. For more details, call (530) 872-8722, Wednesday through Sunday, 12-4pm.
