The ever-popular guitar exhibit and open house/jam session are returning to the Gold Nugget Museum. Please join us for “Guitar Greats,” celebrating both the artists and their instruments. In response to popular demand, we are having two jam sessions, one on March 3 and the second on March 24. Both events will run from 5 to 9 p.m.
Guitar Greats at the Gold Nugget Museum
The exhibit runs March 3rd through April 1, 2018, Wednesday through Sunday, 12-4pm, and features the guitars of local collector Jim Campbell. They include solid body electric, hollow body electric, and acoustic guitars, including one 100-year-old Gibson. There are several signature models—nearly exact replicas of the guitars of legendary musicians. Those musicians include Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, BB King, Bruce Springsteen, and more. The very first signature guitar, Charlie Christian’s 1939 Gibson ES 125 CC, will be on display.
Gene Kelly, a local guitarist and singer, will lead the music. The format will be open mike, featuring players from Paradise and surrounding areas. Admission is $5 for museum members and $10 for nonmembers and includes a free glass of wine or a beer. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.
The Gold Nugget Museum is located at 502 Pearson Road in Paradise. For information, call (530) 872-8722.
